SiGNAGE

On board a ship there is a lot of equipment associated with different

technical systems. Fire dampers, closing devices, valves, pipes etc.

To ensure that the right application is used at the right time,

it's important to have a clear and easy understood marking along with

the recognisable symbol. We also offer engraved signs of high quality

for markings on outdoor and indoor use.

SWL (SAFE WORKiNG LOAD)

General

A lot of thework onboard a ship is heavy and requires

help from cranes ofdifferent types. To ensure a safe

environment for the crew, it is importantwith a clear

and easy understandablemarking and identication of

cranes limits.

To avoidmisunderstandings, it is also important that the

crewworkingwith craneage has common and clear

communicationswhenworkingwith heavy loads.

Pipe Markings

Marking pipes on ships and offshore sites is of high importance to

guarantee safety at all times.Accidents, injuries and damage to

machines and equipment can be caused by people’s ignorance of

the substances thatflow through pipes.

The ISO 14726 standard specifies

the principle colors for the identification of substances in pipes.

ISO 14726-2 specifies additional color codes that allow amore

detailed identification of the substance.

Arrows to indicate the directionalflow

are recommended.

Additional identification by usage of textwill avoid any confusion

regarding the content of the pipes.

ISO 14726-1:1999 - 5.1

Pipelines shall bemarked as follows:

Ÿ

Once in each room, at least.

Ÿ

At each penetration point in bulkheads, walls

and decks.

Ÿ

Close to each valve.

Ÿ

Within a distance of 3m to 5m of the length of the

pipeline, whereby the local conditionsmay require a

more frequentmarking due to pipe bends or the close

proximity of pipes for different services.
