Belly button piercing is still the single piercing we perform the most

In India's piercing studios, we perform about 20 thousand piercings annually. Navel piercing is still one of the most popular piercings. Navel piercing is done, in one of our piercing studios, on you who have reached the age of 15 (with a guardian)Navelpiercing

How do we do a belly button piercing?

When we pierce your navel at India, we use a needle that is 1.7 mm thick and then we insert a titanium healing rod that is 1.6 mm thick and 12 mm long. The rod is deliberately longer because swelling can occur and there should be space on the rod. After about 8 weeks, you can change the piercing if you feel that it feels good. We are always on site to make an assessment and help to change.
The most common size to change to is either 8 or 10 mm long. But we also have a whole collection in all different sizes 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm.

We have Sweden's largest selection of navel jewelry in implant-graded surgical steel and real silver.

With us you will find a unique assortment of beautiful navel jewelry with glittering crystals. The rod itself that goes through the skin is made of the highest quality surgical steel. The pendant itself is made of genuine nickel-free silver and the crystals are cubic zirconia, which have the same or better luster than diamonds. It is important that you do not buy jewelry that is plated or contains nickel. Always buy your piercing jewelry from an authorized piercing studio.

How long is the healing time for a belly button piercing?

The healing of your navel piercing and your health go hand in hand, so it is important that you are healthy when you get your piercing and that you stay healthy during the healing period. Avoid alcohol and nicotine. Also avoid baths and saunas for the first 3 weeks. When you pierce yourself at India, a titanium healing jewelry of the same high quality used in healthcare is included. It is hypoallergenic and should be worn for the entire healing period. The navel normally takes 3 - 18 months to heal. You can usually change the healing jewelry to another hypoallergenic jewelry after a few months depending on how it feels and looks.

Our recommendations for changing your belly button jewelry

It is important that you use freshly washed hands. Unscrew the ball on the healing jewelry. Spray with India disinfectant spray and wash clean with a cotton pad. Disinfect your new piece of jewelry with rubbing alcohol, for example chlorhexidine alcohol from the pharmacy. Carefully insert your new jewelry. It is important that you always have a piece of jewelry in your new hole. In the first year, the healing process is fragile and sensitive, and it is not unusual for irritation to occur during the healing period. Therefore, do not wear too heavy or large jewelry during the first year. During the healing period, it is not unusual for it to be sore. After about a week, a little wound fluid may appear. This is completely normal and should not be confused with pus.

What is the best way to care for my newly pierced belly button?

Your new piercing is easy to care for.
  • Spray with India's disinfectant spray morning, evening and after showering. You can buy it here!
  • Spray and let air dry. Do not use tops, cotton or anything else.
  • Any scabs can be gently washed off in the shower with lukewarm water and mild perfume-free soap.
  • Do not pick at or play with your newly pierced skin. The most important thing during the healing period is that you do not touch your new piercing with unwashed hands. Don't screw or twist the jewelry, it can't heal properly.
  • Avoid creams, high waistbands, belts and other things that can irritate your newly pierced navel.
