Bosal in heavy braided nylon with flexible rigid core. Ring for reins / mecate. Unlike a classic rawhide bosal, the side straps of the Alano are positioned further away from the eyes and therefore do not cross nerve and blood vessels. When used with light pressure via the reins, this bosal provides a soft communication through pressure on the nose.
Color: black.
Mecate and bridle not included, available separately.General information about bosalsBosals are flexible and should be shaped to fit the horse's nose. Properly fitted, they are very comfortable and accepted by most horses. The considerable weight of the bosal affects the response you get from the horse.
The bosal works via pressure points around the nose and is easy for the horse to understand - provided the rider has a sensitive and light hand. A hard and insensitive hand quickly destroys the effect of a bosal, resulting in the horse not listening at all.
The use is simple - with the leading rein you control
horse; the right hand steers the horse to the left and vice versa.
A bosal always uses a mecate - a long rope that is traditionally traditionally made from genuine horse hair and tied with a special knot at the heel-knot of the bosal. Horse hair is a stiff and material that has a strong effect on the horse's neck during neckreining. We recommend wearing thin gloves when using horsehair mecate.
