As controller, BMAB is responsible for making sure that your data is handled in a correct and secure way in accordance with applicable legislation.

Which personal data about you do we process?
When you place an order with BMAB, we need to collect and process the following information:

  • Payment details such as payment method, card number, cardholder, transaction time, amount, IP address and payment history.

From which sources do we collect data about you as a customer?
BMAB collects your person data directly from you when you place an order, take part in our events, are in contact with our customer service or when you are in contact with us in any other way and provide us with details about yourself. Information about you is collected on these occasions so that you can conclude an agreement with BMAB and so that BMAB can provide you with its products and services.

When you visit the web store, we automatically collect information about you with the aid of cookies. We place cookies on your computer primarily in order to compile statistics about how the website is used. The data we obtain includes browser types, pages visited and links clicked. We use cookies to manage the general technical functionality of the website and also to measure traffic via Google Analytics.

What is the legal basis for our processing of your personal data?
In order that BMAB shall have the right to collect and process your data, there must be a legal basis for each purpose for which the data is used. The types of legal basis on which we base our processing are described in this section. Please note that several types of legal basis can be applicable to the same processing activity.

  • Legal obligation. This basis means that our processing is necessary in order to fulfil a legal obligation that is required of BMAB, for example to document payment details in order to meet the requirements of the Swedish Accounting Act.
  • Contractual obligations. This basis means that processing is necessary in order to fulfil an agreement with you as a customer or to be able to conclude an agreement at a later stage. In connection with an order or purchase, we process your data in order to fulfil obligations in accordance with BMAB’s general terms and conditions of sale.
  • Legitimate interest. This basis means that our processing is based on what is referred to as a balancing of legitimate interest. On this basis, we process data including your personal data in order to prevent or investigate crime within the framework of our business activities. If we believe that a crime or an attempted crime has been committed and we submit a report to the police, BMAB will also continue to process your personal data in order that we can confirm, defend or lodge a legal claim.

How long do we save your personal data?
BMAB will save your personal data for as long as is necessary in order to fulfil the purposes for which the data is being processed. The length of the storage period therefore depends on the purpose for which the data is being processed. Furthermore, BMAB may save the data for longer if it is required in order to confirm, defend or lodge a legal claim, e.g. if a dispute is in progress or if a crime report has been submitted to the police authority. We perform regular purges and erase personal data that is no longer necessary.

What are your rights as a registered customer?
BMAB is responsible for ensuring that your personal data is processed in accordance with current legislation. This section describes your rights associated with our processing of your personal data. At your request or on our own initiative we will rectify, anonymise, erase or supplement data that is discovered to be incorrect, incomplete or misleading. As a customer of BMAB, you have the following rights:

  • Right to access your personal data. If you would like an insight into our processing of data about you, you have the right to request information about the processing activity, including a copy of your personal data being processed, what is referred to as a register extract.
  • Right to rectification of your personal data. BMAB attaches great importance to having correct and updated personal data. If the data we have about you is incorrect, you have the right to request that it be rectified. You also have the right to supplement any incomplete personal data, e.g. if we have the correct street address but do not have the house number. At your request, we will rectify the incorrect or incomplete data we are processing about you as quickly as possible.
  • Right to erasure of personal data. We respect that the personal data we are processing has been borrowed from you. You therefore have the right to request that BMAB erases your personal data when the data has been processed incorrectly, must be erased in order to fulfil a legal obligation by which GIFTSETTER is bound or is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was being processed.
  • Right to data portability. You have the right to a copy of the personal data relating to you in a structured format and in certain cases to have the data transferred to another controller. This right, however, only relates to data that you yourself submitted to BMAB and that we are processing with the support of your consent or a contractual obligation towards you as legal basis.
  • Right to restriction of processing. You have the right to request that our processing of your personal data be restricted in certain situations, which means that the data may only be processed for certain purposes. You can, for example, request a restriction of incorrect data when you have requested rectification. During the period when BMAB is investigating the correctness of the data, the processing of it will be restricted.

How do we protect your personal data?
BMAB has taken appropriate technical or organisational security measures in order to prevent personal data being unintentionally or illegally destroyed, forfeited, modified, corrupted, brought to the attention of unauthorised parties or misused.

The company has also drawn up administrative rules to make sure that employees’ access to personal data is restricted to include only what is required in order to perform each employee’s function. We never store personal data other than that required in order to fulfil our agreement with you.

When you visit our website, your entire visit takes place via a secure, encrypted connection. There are two easy ways of seeing that the site is encrypted and secure in accordance with SSL. One is the padlock next to the site’s URL (web address), the other is the fact that the web address begins with HTTPS instead of the traditional HTTP.
